President Message
Dr Amulya Kumar Singh
Dear Members of the Bihar Orthopaedic Association,
It is with a deep sense of humility and profound gratitude that I address you as your President. I am sincerely moved by the faith and trust you have placed in me by electing me to this prestigious office unanimously. This responsibility is not the one I take lightly, but I am committed to serving our fraternity with transparency, dedication, and clinical excellence. My vision for our association is built upon the foundation of our shared values and the evolving needs of our profession.
Below is the roadmap for our journey ahead:
Academic Excellence and Education - CME and Teaching: We will revitalize our academic calendar with high-impact CMEs and Masterclasses. Our focus will be on practical, evidence-based learning that benefits both seasoned consultants and residents. The Next Generation: I make a special appeal to our young surgeons: your energy is our greatest asset. I encourage you to actively join and participate in both the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) and the Bihar Orthopaedic Association (BOA). We are committed to providing you with the mentorship and platforms you need to shine.
Clinical Vision & The President’s Theme- Our guiding principle for the year will be: "Bridging the Gap: From Rural Care to Robotics Excellence"
This theme reflects our dual commitment to ensuring that the person in the remotest village of Bihar receives quality trauma care, while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of technology with robotic-assisted surgery and modern innovation. Social Commitment and Patient Trust Rural Care: We will strengthen our outreach programs to ensure orthopedic care reaches the underserved.
Patient Faith: By practicing passionate care and maintaining the highest ethical standards, we will work tirelessly to strengthen the sacred bond of trust between doctors and patients. Strengthening the District and City Chambers: The BOA is only as strong as its local units. We will focus on empowering district and city chapters to be more active and self-sustaining.
IOACON 2026, Ahmedabad: We aim to organize an exceptional IOA CME during IOACON 2026, showcasing the academic prowess and unity of the Bihar contingent. Fellowship and Motivation with Harmony: I believe in an inclusive BOA where every member is heard. We will foster an environment of more harmony and fellowship, ensuring that our social bonds are as strong as our professional ones. Guidance and Respect: My door is always open for guidance and motivation. Above all, our tenure will be defined by mutual respect for all members, regardless of seniority or background. Together, let us embark on this journey to take the Bihar Orthopaedic Association to new heights.

Prof. Dr. Ritesh Runu
It is my privilege and honour to address you as the Secretary of this esteemed association. The Bihar Orthopaedic Association (BOA) completes 44 remarkable years since its establishment in 1982. Over the decades, our association has been shaped and strengthened by distinguished stalwarts whose vision, expertise, and commitment laid a strong foundation for academic excellence and professional unity. We remain deeply grateful to all our seniors for their invaluable guidance and contributions.
BOA continues to uphold its mission of fostering academic growth, clinical excellence, and collaborative learning. Our younger colleagues represent the future of the association, and their specialised training and expertise have enriched BOA across all domains of Orthopaedics. We take great pride in the fact that BOA now has nationally recognised faculty in every orthopaedic subspecialty. Many of our members also serve in prestigious leadership roles—Presidents, Secretaries, and Executive Members—in national organisations. Their dedication and vision continue to elevate BOA’s stature at the national level.
As an institution, we remain committed to organising CMEs, workshops, hands-on training programmes, and social outreach activities under the BOA Outreach Program in various parts of Bihar. We also look forward to active participation and meaningful contribution to the IOACON CME at Ahmedabad. Enhancing our journal, promoting fellowship programmes, and expanding specialty-based training remain high on our academic priority list as we strive to create greater opportunities for learning, skill enhancement, and professional development.
Our senior members continue to be a source of inspiration, offering mentorship and direction that guide us at every step. Their support strengthens our resolve to serve the orthopaedic community with dedication and unity.
